Hello everyone,
Let me start by saying I agree with Theory that the Kaminoan’s “Phase 3” is force sensitive clones. I also think Omega is the first successful clone with the potential for force sensitivity. I think most of us are on-board with that idea or are hopeful it will be the case.
If I may, I’d like to talk about some biology. So, any cell that has an intact nucleus can provide viable DNA for cloning. That includes skin cells, blood cells, and hair follicles. A full strand of viable DNA can even be pieced together from multiple sources. The DNA donor does not need to be alive, either. Viable DNA is recovered from partially decomposed, frozen, pre-historic animals that have been buried for thousands of years; routinely. So basically, if you had just one well preserved body, you would have a nearly endless supply of cells to extract clonable DNA from.
We saw the clones, and the Bad Batch, return to Kamino in episode 1; the regs returning with a fallen Jedi. I would presume if those regs had orders to collect the fallen Jedi, then that all the clones that carried out 66, also recovered fallen Jedi. If the writers are using real science facts about cloning and what I said above can be applied, and we can assume Kaminoans already have a source for the DNA that Omega was cloned from (not Jango’s, I’ll explain), then why are the Kaminoans collecting Jedi bodies if it’s not for the DNA?
So here’s my theory… I don’t believe Omega is a clone of Jango as Jango was not force sensitive. I believe Omega’s DNA is from another source. A source I believe the Kaminoan’s still have plenty of… so I don’t think the Kaminoans want Omega back for her DNA either. I think the Kaminoans need to get Omega back so they can keep infusing her with midi-chlorians they are gathering from the fallen Jedi’s blood. I think midi-chlorians need to be continually infused as force sensitive clones grow both, to achieve full force potential, and to avoid potential psychosis or other developmental issues. Or perhaps force sensitive clones are like uncharged batteries, only able to use the force after enough midi-chlorians have been introduced. Maybe this is why we haven’t seen Omega use any force abilities.
Either way, it explains why it was Grogu’s blood they were after and not just his corpse. It also paints a picture of what is likely happening throughout the galaxy from just after Order 66 to the time of the Mandalorian, more than 50 years later. The Empire searching for and gathering force sensitives, and the unlikely heroes protecting them. This, I think, will be the common thread in all the upcoming series and the reason why the similarities between the Mandalorian and the Bad Batch are so blatantly obvious.
Feels good to get that out. It was burning a hole in my brain! Let me know what you think.
Thanks for checking this out.
