From new Games, to Movies, to TV Shows – Star Wars is Back
Hey guys,
Being a Star Wars fan is definitely a great thing right now. I know a lot of you guys loved The Last Jedi, but for those of you who didn’t, there was definitely a bad feeling in the air about Star Wars this time last year. Fast forward to 2019 and things have flipped around 180 degrees.
There’s so much to look forward to at the moment. I’ve chosen the major six events and not included comics or books (we’d be here all day), so let’s focus on the biggest events coming our way in the next year or so.
So. starting in no particular order…
The Mandalorian
At Last weekend’s Celebration, a lot of material from The Mandalorian was shown for the first time. We aren’t allowed to show you any of the footage right now, but take it from me, the new Star Wars live action TV show looks fantastic! I was riveted to my seat during the entire showing of the first trailer, a sizzle reel and a clip from show. The whole thing felt action packed and most importantly of all, it FELT like Star Wars.
For those of you who didn’t have the good fortune of watching the trailer, here’s a breakdown video from the channel…
Starring Game of Thrones’ Pedro Pascal in the lead title, The Mandalorian is due for release in November of this year.
We’ve all been waiting for a live action Star Wars TV show for years (the Holiday Special doesn’t count). The Mandalorian is definitely something to look forward to.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
With the cancelation of the Star Wars video game 1313 a couple of years back and another untitled game sent to the trash compactor, it looks as though we may finally be getting the game we deserve in the guise of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Set after the events of Order 66, players take control of a Padawan character called Cal Kestis (portrayed by Cameron Monaghan), one of the last surviving Jedi. This single-player action-adventure game will be released on all major platforms in November this year.
I wasn’t sure what kind of game this would be, but after seeing the trailer a few days ago, I’m sold. See for yourself…
Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7
It’s been over five long years since we were last treated to a season of The Clone Wars, so this really is exciting news. I know, the news has been out on this since last year, but we have a date now and a trailer, plus the news that Ray Park will be involved as Darth Maul ( I can’t wait to see what they come up with using him for motion capture).
I really didn’t like the way season 6 ended so abruptly and as for Ahsoka Tano walking away at the end like that? Well, that was just plain wrong., but hey, we have the new season to look forward to. We still have to wait until 2020 before the show is aired, but at least we are getting it.
Check out the new style CG in the trailer below…
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
Whatever your opinion may be on the sequel trilogy, you have to admit that this trailer is great.
There has been a ton of theories online as to how they will get Palpatine back into the story (if at all) and the crashed Death Star…how will that fit in the story? Click HERE for more on that.
The fanbase has been pretty divided over The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, but I have a good feeling that The Rise of Skywalker will be a great movie. Definitely a movie to look forward to in my opinion.
The Old Republic
Kathleen Kennedy was interviewed a couple of days ago and was asked is there anything planned for The Old Republic. In summary, she basically confirmed that they are working on the OR, but what format it will be and when will it be released, she never said. It may just be wishful thinking on my part, but how great would it be if a movie trilogy is in the works. Whatever it turns out to be, I’ll definitely be looking forward to it.
More on the story in the following video…
Untitled Star Wars Cassian Andor Live Action TV Series
There’s not too much legit information on this show out there right now except for the fact that it’s definitely in the works. The only confirmed stars are Diego Luna, and Alan Tudyk. There was also a piece of footage of K-2SO shown at Celebration.
In my opinion, there are a lot more popular characters from the Star Wars universe that warrant their own TV shows other than Cassian Andor, but as far as I am concerned, the more Star Wars on our TVs’ the better. I’ll definitely be looking forward to this one.
What Would you Love to see From the Star Wars Universe in the Near Future?
