The Reylo rumbles on with fans divided over whether they want a romance between the moody leader of the First Order and the mysteriously powerful orphan. There is also a huge division between those who will be glad to see the back of Rey and her tortured background – not to mention her inexplicable and canon-threatening instant abilities. These are two of the greatest fuels on the fire of the great Episode 8 backlash. But will Star Wars really **** off Rey?
New leaks claim to describe a full scene which heavily suggests Rey is dying.
As always, please take any leaks, rumours and similar claims with a large pinch of salt. They are impossible to verify until December 2019 and often reflect the current available information mixed with a large dose of wish fulfillment.
The leaks describe three storyboard images: “One of which has to do with Kylo Ren and Rey with a hint Rey may die in this movie. A description of Kylo Ren holding Rey in his arms with tons of fire behind him. This appears to be the destruction of a First Order base. In the background is Kylo Ren’s lightsaber on the floor and it seems to be damaged.”
“The next goes over Kylo Ren kneeling over Rey with her eyes closed. This could be a sign she is knocked unconscious or has passed away. His head goes down in a similar fashion to when Luke witnessed his father die in Return of the Jedi.
“The last goes over Kylo Ren’s hand on her forehead with a tear running down his eye. Kylo Ren’s arm has a cut and many parts of his clothing are ripped and the same goes for Rey.”
Fans have already lost Luke, Leia and Han Solo, will Star Wars really **** off its latest central character?
Kylo Ren may be the more deserving of a dramatic death after betraying his parents and the Republic. However, he is the last surviving Skywalker (that we know of). His death would be a powerful way to end the entire Skywalker saga, but a galaxy far, far away with no Skywalkers seems unthinkable.
As for Rey, it is more likely she is unconscious in any such scene. It would still provide huge drama. Coming close to losing one of the last remaining people he feels connected to may also be the final turning point for bringing Kylo back to the Light Side.
